At least 17 people have died after heavy rainfall in southwestern China has triggered flooding and landslides in the provinces of Sichuan and Yunnan. According to state media reports, 14 people have died and 5 are still missing after a landslide.
The landslide took place high on a mountain at 6am local time on Sunday at a state-owned forestry station in Jinkouhe, near the city of Leshan, the local government said in an online statement.
CHENGDU: Fourteen people were confirmed dead and five others remained missing following a mountain collapse on Sunday in Leshan City, southwest China's Sichuan Province, according to local publicity department.
