though. that rain, that much water being there, this is the concern on this road. i can actually see now there is flooding down here. this is why the officials have already shut this road down. there are three main roads into palm springs they shutdown already. the concern is flooding. and this is one of those locations. and i can see now that this entire side of the road is covered up with water down there. this is the concern. just a little bit of water could really move an entire car. so, they don t want people out here driving, we have seen a few people out here that came out with off road vehicles coming out to play. now, it is really, really wet out here. it takes a few minutes. the conditions have changed. we are starting to see mudsliding. starting to see some of that. some cars being trapped in some of this water. this is the reason why, jim, i know i keep saying it but just stay indoors, too late to go outside now. absolutely. great advice.

this was a magnitude 5.1 quake. we are hearing from folks in los angeles from one person who said their apartment did shake just a bit during this earthquake. so we will stay on top of that. let s stay on the situation with tropical storm hillary. just a few hours ago south in san diego. cnn picking up on some of the effects of tropical storm hillary, how are things looking there? reporter: we are certainly seeing, jim, the heaviest rain that we have seen throughout the day. the city officials here, the people who are watching the weather, the mayor s office says that this is the thick of it. these are the next few hours where we are going to see the most amount of rain here in the city of san diego. i am standing in mission valley. this is an area that typically sees flooding. that is not a surprise to people who live here or the city officials. so, what the city has done in
