Parlow Cone unopposed for additional year as USSF president Follow Us Question of the Day By - Associated Press - Monday, January 11, 2021 CHICAGO (AP) - Cindy Parlow Cone is unopposed for an additional one-year term as U.S. Soccer Federation president running until February 2022. Parlow Cone, a former national team midfielder, became president March 11 last year when Carlos Cordeiro quit following a backlash. The federation had claimed in a gender discrimination lawsuit that women players had less physical ability and responsibility than their male counterparts. Cordeiro had been elected to a four-year term in February 2018, succeeding Sunil Gulati. TOP STORIES

Pride Re-sign Marisa Viggiano Yesterday the Orlando Pride announced the re-signing of midfielder Marisa Viggiano. The midfielder has been inked to a two-year deal that includes an option for an additional year. Viggiano was picked 30th overall by the Pride in the 2019 NWSL draft and made 19 appearances during her rookie season, with 16 of those coming as a starter. Viggiano will likely get a significant amount of playing time this year.
