As she created the book, Katz said it became apparent the pandemic brought many Canadians “back to their roots.” Families created their own meals from scratch, kitchen table conversations thrived, and ritual sit-down dinners fostered meaningful connections.
“We came together over food,” she said.
The cookbook features 95 recipes from home cooks, professional chefs, bakers, and restauranteurs across Canada, including Katz’s own family dishes. Interspersed throughout are heartfelt memoirs of resilience and fortitude.
