Genesee County considers replacement for Genesee Health Plan

GENESEE COUNTY, MI Fourteen years after voters first approved a property tax to pay for medical care for the working poor, the program could be headed for a major shakeup.
The Genesee County Board of Commissioners agreed April 15 to prepare a request for proposals from organizations interested in administering the program after failing to reach an agreement on an updated contract with its current provider, the Genesee Health Plan.
