BRIDGEWATER – For the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High football team’s offensive line, there is no better sight than No. 18 trailing off into the distance.
It has happened repeatedly this season with senior running back Anthony Morrison bursting through an opening and accelerating past defenders on his way to the end zone.
While Morrison gets credited for picking up those yards and scoring touchdowns, it is made possible in part due to the tremendous efforts of the individuals along the Trojans offensive line that put in the less acclaimed work to spring Morrison loose.
“Every time we run a sweep and he breaks a long one and just watching him run off into the end zone, realizing nobody is going to catch him is a great feeling,” said senior tight end Luke Payton, who provides critical blocking on the perimeter in B-R’s run-heavy offense. “It feels like we all definitely help with that.”
