Alberta’s minister of municipal affairs, Ric McIver, has decided that an inspection of Pincher Creek will not be done. This decision was made following a preliminary review conducted by the municipal affairs department.
“Municipal inspections are extraordinary measures and are not undertaken lightly,” McIver wrote in a letter to the town council.

“While the review identified some concerns with respect to the governance and operation of the village, those concerns are not of sufficient severity to warrant a full inspection of the Town of Pincher Creek at this time,” the letter said.
