policy. it s about the people who actuallydo the work . the people who work for both the city and county of san francisco and the people who work for various nonprofit agencies in san francisco though as we unveiled this 13.95 billion dollar budget for the city and county of san francisco, it s important to take a deep dive into what we need to do as we come out of the global pandemic. we need to focus on the people. we need to focus on our workforce we need to focus on our economic recovery . we need to focus on the challenges that exist with public safety. we need to focus onhelping our most vulnerable and homeless populations and improve our transportationnetwork . so many things to do but i ve got to tell you on this beautiful sunny day in union square i am hopeful . i am optimistic aboutthe future of our city more than i have ever been because i am confident about the investments that we are making . read a draft of a supreme court opinion. i decision that would overturn roe versus wade and set our country back by 50 years. this is a very dark momentfor the highest court in our land and our country s rule of law . the potentialconsequences of this opinion cannot be underestimated .we re not just talking about the arrests, the prosecutions, the criminal convictions ofwomen seeking reproductive health care or medical professionals providing that care. we know from history that women will die because of this decision . now, over the years that bay area has had a proud tradition of lawyers taking up the cause of justice during the turmoil of the 1960s , bay area lawyers formed the lawyers committee for civil rights leveraging the efforts of thousands of pro bono attorneys. after a mass shooting at a downtown san francisco law firm their area lawyers started the community againstviolence which has led the nationalfight for gun safety . and when no one bought it possible , bay

the most live site here in the swim, only sometimes do they make their way up and become visible to us. roots are amazing. they lead a secret life all of their own and have some impressive abilities. watson s, and possibly it s a fascinating miniature reactors that keep the shoot of a plant alive and as such, an entire ecosystem was alive for, for too long roots have been neglected by the world of research. defense of our demand doesn t stop a ground level. there still a whole lot under the ground, and that should not be forgotten. this invisible parts of the plant has the potential to help us solve some of the most pressing challenges of our time, preventing soil erosion mitigating the effects of climate change and securing the still needs of a growing world population. ah, here scientists take a closer look at this concealed world and bring it into the light. ah, who was out? there would be no life for us. humans, plants nourish and nurture us in numerous ways. they protect
