Letters to editor for Thursday, March 11, 2021 Letter writers Maybe close to end but not there yet Many Republican governors have relaxed requirements for wearing masks and are allowing 100% occupancies in restaurants. I guess they learned nothing from the premature openings during the summer. There still are way too many cases now, and not enough folks have been vaccinated yet. But if everything keeps progressing the way they are, we might be able to eschew masks in four to six weeks. Hoping most of us will hang on and continue to stay safe for that short time.  The CDC and COVID Task Force reiterated (Monday) the need to keep our feet on the gas, especially since we don’t have enough data on the variants that are ravaging Europe now.
