The first-term city commissioner, who called the procedure a "witch hunt" at a meeting last week, faces six charges to oust him from office under the city's charter.
At the Marine City Commission’s Sept. 7 meeting, Commissioner Michael Hilferink was arrested after refusing to leave the podium during the public comment portion of the meeting, and the commission voted to initiate section 5.4 of the charter to start the hearing process of removing him from office.
