Hutch Rec Commission recognized by state
The Hutchinson Recreation Commission earned an honorable mention in the annual Kansas Health Champion Awards, which recognize “organizations and policymakers that put forth exceptional efforts to model, encourage and promote fitness in Kansas,”
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment and the Governor’s Council on Fitness presented the 2021 awards during the Community Health Promotion Summit on Jan. 28 in Topeka.
This was the eighth year for the award developed by the Governor’s Council on Fitness to recognize and promote exemplary contributions to fitness in Kansas. The award recognizes one winner and one honorable mention in two categories, for an individual and an organization.

The new Hays location for Office Products Inc. is now open for business at 2001 Vine.
HAYS Office Products Inc. (OPI) has moved several blocks up the street to a new, more customer friendly location, said Jim Grabbe, sales representative.
The family-owned business is now located at 2001 Vine; its previous site was 1307 Vine.
“We shared space at the other location, which limited our options,” Grabbe said. “Now our merchandise is displayed in a way that is more convenient for our clientele.”
OPI offers a wide variety of office supplies, equipment and furniture. If an item is not on display in the Hays store, local personnel collaborate with OPI’s other three locations to quickly satisfy a customer’s needs, Grabbe noted.
