GREENFIELD After receiving noise complaints from neighbors, Jim’s Tree Service has agreed to limit the hours it operates wood processing equipment at its Wells Street location.
On Tuesday, the town’s Planning Board ordered the business to limit the hours it operates its wood splitter and chipper to no more than 1½ hours per day, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 1 and 4 p.m. Owner Jim Elwell and his attorney, Scott Cote, originally came before the board in October after it was brought to the town’s attention that the company never presented a site plan after moving to its current location at 275 Wells St. more than four years ago.

The UMass football team is 0-2 and has been outscored 92-10. The running backs are averaging under three yards a carry, and the quarterbacks have been sacked five times.
A good offensive lineman is hard to find, yet last season Ray Thomas-Ishman was let go as part of coach Walt Bell’s “we only want character guys” purge.
Any quarterback will tell you that a 6-5, 350-pound lineman has plenty of character. Bell, however, didn’t like Thomas-Ishman’s unresolved anger issues. Television viewers got a glimpse of those issues in 2017 when he went after teammate Jessie Britt during an injury timeout against Mississippi State.
