The board confirmed that mask wearing may be required for the start of school this fall due to the COVID-19 Delta variant, although no official decision has been made.
Board member Arlen Diercks said, âWe are aware of the masking issues, more than likely we will be needing to wear masks.â
During the discussion, a motion was made by Board Vice Chair Jim Bryant to not require masks in September, which failed 3-2 with Holly Tauer and Nicky Buck absent from the meeting.
Board members Anna Ostendorf, Jennifer Tift and Diercks agreed that more information from the districtâs COVID-19 Response Team is needed to make the final decision.

Plane Crash-Lands At Tulsa International Airport After Landing Gear Malfunction
A small plane crashed-landed at Tulsa International Airport early Thursday morning after having trouble with the landing gear, but the pilot is uninjured.
The pilot’s instructor and friend Joe Bacon said sometime just before 11 p.m. Wednesday night, experienced pilot Jim Bryant took off from Claremore Regional Airport to fly into Tulsa International Airport.
Bacon said when Bryant attempted to come in for the descent, the landing gear would not go down. He said he tried everything from manually lowering the gear, looking through the handbook, calling his friend who went to wake up his former flight instructor, and even calling Cessna customer support.
