The Madison Police Department is responding to reports from authorities in the Chicago area that the man accused of killing seven people and injuring dozens of others during a mass shooting during a July 4 parade considered a second attack in the Madison area on the same day.
MADISON, Wis. — The alleged shooter who killed seven and injured more than 30 others at a Fourth of July parade in Highland Park, Illinois considered opening fire at a second holiday event in Madison but ultimately decided against it, according to statements the 21-year-old made to police after his arrest. Authorities confirmed Tuesday that Robert Crimo III traveled to Madison.
