Fire ripped through a Century Old Church just minutes after mass ends. Heart broken parishioners watched the building burn. And right now firefighters are still dousing the rubble to make sure the fire doesnt flair up. Good evening. The fire at Holy Cross Parish in san jose started at 2 00 this afternoon. Abc7 News Reporter lilian kim is there live with the story. Lilian . Reporter katie, this is as close as we are allowed to get. The fire captain says these walls could collapse at anytime. A sad day for those who have been going to this church for decades. It took only minutes for a centurys old church to be a raging inferno. He just locked the doors. 1 00 mass had ended. In five minutes you could see the smoke and then went inside and could see the fire. It didnt take long before they realized there was nothing they could do. The fire burned through the roof and parts chapsed. Collapsed. Tried to distinguish the fire and went off from an offensive strategy to a defensive. The church
