Cuyahoga Arts & Culture reported that a survey of 65 organizations it funds showed a total of 1,636 people were laid off, furloughed or working on reduced hours from January to June 2021. The arts and culture sector still is losing money, though at a slower rate than in 2020. Still, 'The hard truth is that the creative economy will be one of the last to recover from the pandemic,' said Jill M. Paulsen, executive director of Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.
