“It’s always hard to read,” Waggener said of predicting voter turnout from election to election.
For Morgan County, Waggener said they have had 305 in-house votes and 97 mail-in ballots, as of Friday morning. Early voting continued Saturday and will be available until 5 p.m. today.
“We’ve had a lot of people come out and vote early,” she said.
With Jacksonville having a mayoral race and the village of South Jacksonville’s president seat being sought, Waggener can see how voters are wanting to voice their opinion.
“We do have several questions on the ballots,” she said of the candidates. “People are voting for that.”

Early voting in Morgan County could start as early as this week now that the February primary is closed.
Morgan County Clerk Jill Waggener says her office officially closed the Jacksonville Mayoral primary yesterday with the final outcome being pretty much the same as election night.
“
We counted all of the ballots that came through the mail. Of course, there were some additional votes for each of the candidates but the outcome was still the same. With Mr. Ezard winning the primary and Nicole being the second person with the most votes. So both of those people will move on to April.”
