Houses, mostly pasture for cattle, but firefighters say they cannot let any fire burn more than 10 acres. The bigger the fire, the harder it is to put one out. You are taking a look at the charred earth, where the fire was. We had fire crews last night and early this morning. Attacking it from both the air and firefighters on the ground. It was a total of 120 acres. The fire started around 5 00 saturday evening. Cal fire says a lawnmower blade striking a rock is the likely cause. Due to the wind and terrain, fire burned to the north and east. Winds factored into how firefighters will battle a grass fire. While we were interviewing the battalion chief, we noticed a dust devil kicked up behind him. These grassfires may not be getting out of control but what they lack in size, they make up for in frequency in keeping fire crews constantly busy in northern california.
