The Israeli ambassador to Ireland, Ophir Kariv, has said the status of settlements being built on occupied Palestinian land is temporary .
He also claimed efforts to get him expelled were motivated by hate.

However a Solidarity-People Before Profit amendment to expel Ambassador Kariv was voted down. We don t accept it, we think this Irish position is not constructive for the peace process. It touches upon one of the main issues that are supposed to be dealt with in final status negotiations with the Palestinians - and that is the future of the Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria - what is called the West Bank.

A RALLY FOR Palestine planned for Saturday in Dublin is set to be cancelled following advice from gardaí that it could be in breach of Covid-19 public health regulations.

The Foreign Affairs Joint Committee is due to hear from the Israeli Ambassador on Thursday
The Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence has heard claims of intimidation and attacks on children by Isreal as part of its expansion of settlement activity in Palestinian territories.
Dr Jilan Abdalmajid, Ambassador, Mission of State of Palestine said that already this year, twelve thousand housing units have been advanced through plans , in fifty-five Israeli settlements.
An additional eleven new illegal outposts have been set up this year, she said.
Only the Nethlerlands took legal action, Dr Abdalmajid added, which sends a clear message to the Palestinian people.
