Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi Fends Off Accusation of Uyghurs Persecution: Some Western Countries Forced Indigenous Population to Convert to Christianity, Learn English

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that Uyghurs in Xingjian are not faced with racial genocide, religious persecution or forced labor. He made these remarks in an interview with Al Arabiya Network (Saudi Arabia) that aired on March 27, 2021. Yi said that the Uyghur population in Xingjian has increased by more than 25% between 2010 and 2018, mosques and Islamic clerics in the region are provided with public services, and workers are permitted to choose their occupation freely. He added that this is contrary to “some Western countries” that forced the children of the indigenous population under their rule to convert to Christianity and learn English.
Iranian TV host Arman Ghaffarian said that Iranians cannot pin their hopes on American coronavirus vaccine because the U.S. has a record of spreading diseases through experimentation all over the world.
