Liquor bottles were found inside the car with Surat registration
VADODARA: Two persons died when a car they were travelling in collided with a light commercial vehicle near Dahod. The car caught fire due to the impact. Later, it also came to light that there was liquor inside the car.
According to sources, the car registered in Surat may have entered the state from Rajasthan. The driver of the speeding car may have lost control and ran into the truck from behind leading to the accident and the resulting fire.
Fire brigade personnel and policemen from Jhalod rushed to the spot and doused the fire. During the dousing operation, it came to light that two persons were still inside the car. Some liquor bottles were also found inside the car.

Vadodara: The Jhalod unit of the Congress brought out a rally and gave a bandh call on Friday to protest the arrest of Amit Katara in connection with the murder of a municipality councillor Hiren Patel. Amit was presented before a court in Jhalod in Dahod district on Friday evening and remanded to three days police custody.
Patel’s murder is believed to be a fallout of a political rivalry. Amit’s family includes his brother Bhavesh Katara, the Congress MLA from Jhalod and his father, Babu Katara, a former Dahod MP. His wife was elected as the president of the Jhalod municipality only to be ousted by defection engineered by Patel.

VADODARA: Amit Katara, the prime accused in the murder of a Jhalod municipality councillor Hiren Patel on September 27, was arrested on Thursday evening. Amit is the younger brother of Jhalod Congress MLA Bhavesh Katara and son of former MP Babu Katara.
Patel had played a key role in engineering defections in the Jhalod municipality to ensure that Amit’s wife who had been elected as the president lost her seat.
This political rivalry is believed to be the root cause of the murder of Patel.
The local crime branch (LCB) of the Dahod district police caught Amit from his uncle’s house in Chitrodiya village on Thursday evening.
