The first thing is i am well aware that many of you have no idea who i am. And so thank you for showing up out of the spirit of pure curiosity. I think it speaks very well of you. I know there are some really, really big nays in the festival and i feel very honored to be amongst them. Thanks for coming. So who am i . A few things, i write column called the undercover economist for the Financial Times at the pink newspaper thats really good, i recommend it. [applause] thank you sir. The second thing is i present radio. I did a show for the Bbc World Service called 50 things amid the modern economy. I present a show for bbc all about numbers and how we think about numbers, how numbers sometimes lead us astray. Sometimes they help us understand the world. And i also have a podcast with a gentleman called Michael Lewis and Malcolm Gladwell called cautionary tales. Which is all about things going wrong, sometimes in sideways and sometimes in amusing ways and what we can learn from them. So
