Going to be both jewish people of color. Its not exclusively white, but it is what we projected as to us in the United States. Some of it is so important, which is so complex. So complex in north america and really the United States context. When we talk about something about oscar normative that says there is a way in which we kind of suddenly aspire to something. I if cn a jewish context about, i know its a complex question, but what does it mean then in our own context to assimilate to something that is perceived as normative, that we are seeing is completely normative. And a jewish person of color is a just a person of a particular skin color who happens to want to assimilate into and asking isaac normative jewish life. There is a lot of plexaderm to that. Us . Yes. So this was the Largest Survey of Jewish Community life in the bay area that has ever been done. It confirmed thingsway new and it gave us a lot of new information about our population. First of all we are the fourth largest Jewish Community in the country. We have 473,000 People Living in jewish households in the bay area. That is a lot of people. And what we heard is that not all of them are jewish. There are members of jewish households who consider themselves part of a jewish family, but themselves have other identities. Many jews have multiple identities, one of the most Diverse Communities in the country in terms of the Jewish Community. Jews have color, lgbtq, people who come people whose families come from spain, from the middle east and north africa, israeli, russians so it is a large and diverse Jewish Community and a young Jewish Community so there are a lot of young people proportionally and many of them come and go. They move here from other places. They leave wh

This is a study about the demographics and so much more of the bay area Jewish Community. There are many things that are exciting about the study but i think the most exciting is the first population study that has ever been done that includes the entire bay area. 10 counties. Undergrad and decided to become a rabbi based on the Jewish Community in the bay area and how vibrant and engaging it was for young adults so when i left to move to israel i always wanted to come back. And this is just an amazing opportunity to reconnect with friends and mentors and i have a lot of family that lives in east basothat was also a real draw. So theres a lot of conversation in the community about how religion is relevant to the contemporary way of life. And certainly when we look at the San Francisco bay area theres a lot of conversation about how does ones faith, how does ones spisht chalty actually integrate with all the different ways in which we understand life.
