After keeping its downtown stage dark for the past 10 months, Carpenter Square Theatre reopened its doors this weekend with "From Door to Door."
Before the venerable theater's Friday and Saturday premiere performances of James Sherman's bittersweet comedy, longtime Artistic Director Rhonda Clark said she hoped to do more than make audiences laugh and cry with the heartwarming season 37 opener.
She hoped to bring a "glimmer of hope" to patrons after months of coping with the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We have concerns, but we want to get back at least on a limited basis in producing shows," Clark said. "We really weighed our options between some sense of normality and being safe. . We're giving it a go.
