he is our timekeeper today. he will show you cards to show that we are moving along. good morning. i m executive director of the san francisco parks alliance . we are the independent partner to all of you, all of the city departments in all of us residents in san francisco for everything having to do with arcs, recreation and open space in san francisco. mr. mayor, yet seen a number of statistics, supervisors you have seen them, department heads, but many of you have not been many of the research statistics produced in the last year or so about just how much we love our parks. two thirds of us visit a park at least weekly; 90 percent of us believe that our parks are essential to the quality-of-life in san francisco; we use them so much and we love them to death. since 2005, into the city s general fund has grown by 20 percent we have cut the funding to those parts by more than 26 percent, moving in the wrong direction and has been for years. as supervisor wiener pointed out
