Media release: Spectacular Brodick Castle projections launch Arran Arts Heritage Trail
BRODICK Castle is the backdrop for a spectacular display of artworks to mark the launch of the Arran Arts Heritage Trail.
The unique projection images feature the work of Joan Eardley, Jessie M King, Craigie Aitchison and Alisdair Gray, amongst others.
The image projections – combined with a public online symposium, chaired by broadcaster and writer Kirsty Wark – mark the launch of the trail on the 29th April.
The Isle of Arran has been the inspiration for many iconic artists and in collaboration with members of the local community, 20 locations with a featured artist have been identified to establish a new island-wide Arran Arts Heritage Trail. The trail aims to celebrate and document this rich cultural heritage for current and future generations.

It was a whole new experience for me.
Of course, with the country still in lockdown, the festival programme was entirely virtual.
That turned out to be a good thing. It meant people from all over the world could attend our event if they wanted. And there was no restriction on numbers, either.
On the downside, I had to become familiar with the technology required to make it all happen!
And hope and pray that my internet connection didn’t go down . . .
What could go wrong? Well, quite a lot, actually. Beforehand, my fear was that the event would be cat-bombed by one or more of my furry friends.
