National City’s newest Guardian is coming. Azie Tesfai’s Kelly Olsen will be taking up the mantle from her brother in the back half of the final season of “Supergirl,” and she’s got a brand new look.
To refresh your memory: After James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) exited “Supergirl” in Season 5, fans immediately began hoping his sister Kelly would take the shield, having seen her briefly wield the weapon during “Crisis on Infinite Earths.” At the end of March, the “Supergirl” showrunners made it official, announcing that Tesfai would become Guardian in Season 6. This makes Kelly one-half of an official super couple, as her girlfriend Alex (Chyler Leigh) officially became Sentinel in the season premiere.

Supergirl star Chyler Leigh steps behind the camera to direct Tuesday s episode of The CW superhero drama and it s not your typical hour of high-flying action. The conclusion of a two-part flashback arc set in 2009 Midvale, which turns back the dial to further explore the dynamics between Kara Danvers (Izabela Vidovic) and her sister, Alex (Olivia Nikkanen), in their younger years, picks up right where things left off. As young Kara experiences kryptonite for the first time, a young Cat Grant or CJ here (guest star Eliza Helm), may be the reason Supergirl never gets out of the Phantom Zone.
The end result is equal parts uncanny similarity, affectionate homage to the character that came before and absolute hoot. As we first learned in last weekâs âProm Night!â episode, gossip columnist CJ is bored with her
Daily Planet beat, but sure that she can land a killer story after spotting what she believes are the aliens targeting Midvaleâs Kryptonian. Along the way, she intersects with our heroes and learns a bit more about herself and what awaits her in the future. And while she is still a far cry from the boss Kara had to deal with in Season 1, tonightâs hour (fittingly titled âProm Again!â) is at its hilarious best whenever Helmâs Cat gets the chance to toss out shade like a seasoned pro and play around with the cast.

Superman & Lois, could there be another potential spinoff in the works?
Supergirl showrunners Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller explain the latest.
Preparing to say goodbye is never easy and
Supergirl is doing it in stride. However, with the show ending and the Arrowverse always expanding, talks of a spinoff are never off the table. Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller talked to The Wrap about a potential spinoff and while Rovner had said there are no conversations regarding a spinoff show happening so far, Queller has ideas:
