top six bucks this summer and stocks getting rocked with new warnings in america, are we headed for a deep recession. and parents still very frustrated that the president waited until yesterday evening to directly deal with the baby formula shortage. the end result to all this only 25% of americans think the country is headed in the right direction. top republican kevin mccarthy says it has to do with a lack of leadership. everything this president has touched, he has failed at but he has made america weaker in that process. and we ve watched the democrats inside congress and senate mirror those same decisions. but the bad headlines and disgrunt lea voters are not stopping some in the media from making this claim. you embrace the biden agenda, it s going to get you far. you know, there s a lot to run on here. the economy s doing well. i realize inflation is an issue. the biden administration is trying to address but we have record job growth under this administration. w
on this issue and here s what he told jessie. what we saw from parents was they wanted change and we recognize that this learning loss this severe penalty that was, that was felt by kids across the commonwealth of virginia but also across the nation for the shutdown in schools is translated into kids that are so far behind. jessica: jessie i m going to go to you first. what else would you like to highlight fromle governor youngkin s interview with you. jesse: i thought i had a nice tie on. i thought he seemed very emotional about the issue and i ve never had him on my show. i told dana yesterday that i thought he did not like me which was hard for me the to grapple with because i need to be liked by people like glen youngkin and he finally did the show and came on and was very, very passionate. we had him on because there was another story out of pennsylvania, they say these teachers aren t grooming kids and then they do this little
different backgrounds to learn how to commune indicate and be a member of your community. i m a fan of kids in school, just not a fan of the school we re putting kids in. jessica: katie? katie: the pandemic allowed rich wealthy parents to take their kids out of public schools, home schooling on zoom and put them into open private or charter schools. that was not good for them. that s one issue the public schools losing millions of students to that issue. but the crisis that people aren t really talking about because you can t see it is kids who never got put back into school at all. if you talk to teachers who were teaching on zoom during the pandemic, a lot of kids didn t show up anymore. they stopped going to school all together. they weren t at home learning on line and now the schools are reopened, they can t find those kids. there are thousands of them who are missing. what happened to them? what are they doing? and not talking about high school kids who maybe didn t finish th
advocating especially people in congress who don t like to be blamed. they re advocating to keep title 42. the nature of title 42 is about coronavirus and public health. i don t think you should be using a bobid date to fix a tourniquet problem as a guy who s used torn kits before how do you feel katie: i don t want to talk about tourniquets because i ll pass out but i agree with you that if they say title 42 is a public health measure then the president has other tools within the department of homeland security and the executive branch to stop this problem. they re throwing their hands up and acting like well a judge says we have to take title 42 off and therefore we have no other options. that s not true. but this administration has taken the stance that they have turned ice into a transportation agency. they have turned border patrol into a processing agency and they have absolutely emboldened cartels. they re making a hundred million dollars a week just on human smuggling alone.
the equation and the teachers unions aren t concerned about that because they just want people back in public schools because they want more funding and the people that this has hurt the most is the one the left claims they care about the most, poor kids, children of color, single parents and yet there s this missing student crisis and it s really difficult to nail it down. jessica: we ll talk a lot more about that for sure but the fact is is up next. it s still the eat fresh® refresh, and now subway® is refreshing their classics, like the sweet onion teriyaki sauce, topped on tender shaved steak. it s a real slam dunk. right, derek? wrong sport, chuck.
