Dr. Carter G. Woodson, the child of enslaved people, achieved much his parents couldn't. He became a celebrated Black historian, was the second African American after W.E. B. DuBois to earn a doctorate from Harvard University and is known as "The Father of Black History," according to Explore Pine Bluff.com.
