North Alabamians are reporting scam calls where the caller says they work for the Alabama Department of Public Health, but then, they start asking the recipient to tell them their personal medical information. Consumers are getting calls from someone claiming to be from the Alabama Department of Public Health and asking a lot of questions about their medical history, insurance information, personal information that would not be obtained by the Alabama Department of Public Health, said Belinda McCormick.

Man wounded in afternoon Huntsville shooting Updated Dec 22, 2020; A man was wounded shortly after noon today in Huntsville. Huntsville police Lt. Jesse Sumlin said the incident happened at around 12:09 p.m. in the 900 block of Lee Drive. Officers arriving found a man with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported by HEMSI to the hospital, where he is in critical condition, Sumlin said. Police are investigating.
