The League to Save Lake Tahoe tested the remote-controlled "BEBOT" earlier this week at Kiva Beach. It is designed to help dig up small pieces of trash.
People can easily pick up large pieces of trash, but smaller pieces of plastic can eventually still find their way into the water after sinking into the sand.

There is an innovative cleaning tool being added to efforts this summer - BEBOT, the all-electric, remote control beach-cleaning robot that is solar and battery-powered.
