Parts of the spirits of our ancestors festival. We spoke with organizer Joycelynn Davis. The spirit of our ancestors festival is a day to set aside to commemorate the descendents of the clotilda. Various festivals that started back in the 1980s from the original founders of the descendents association, and i guess it stopped for a while, so i decided to start it up again. When i was reading her book, i was like, spirit of our ancestors just jumped at me. You greeted everyone and there was a point where you had descendents speak. How did you come up with your program . Well, growing up here in africatown and attending the missionary baptist church, there was a bust of cudjoe lewis in front of our church all of my life, and back in 2002, that bust was destroyed by some kids acting up, and th

FBC Lou Dobbs Tonight July 13, 2024

[ bird caws ] im jamie colby on the Pacific Coast highway in Northern California, just south of the oregon border. Im here to meet a man whose strange inheritance has deep roots and came with a towering dilemma. My name is John Thompson. I inherited a place of unique natural beauty. Next thing i knew, it threatened to come crashing down on me. Im jamie. Welcome to the trees of mystery. John leads me past a giant statue of paul bunyan and into a stunning rainforest, which looks like something out of a tall tale. Its filled with skyhigh coast redwoods, spruces and firs some 20 feet wide and 300 feet tall. Nearly as tall as the statue of liberty. Like a skyscraper. Redwoods like these are among the oldest living things on earth. As much as 3,000 years old. It takes my breath away. But take a closer look. Theres something bizarre about these ancient giants. On the base of this one is a mangled mess the size of a bus. Whats going on here . The spruce trees are growing over a log that fell 1

We will be dealing with all three learning objectives throughout the entire week. So let us begin. First, there is more than one border. This is my reason for doing Historical Research and teaching civil war era southern history especially, to remind people there are border states and there is the borderla
