A team of 14 athletes has been nominated to represent Canada in Para swimming at the Santiago 2023 Parapan Am Games, the Canadian Paralympic Committee and Swimming Canada announced Thursday.
The Santiago 2023 Parapan Am Games will take place November 17-26, 2023 in Santiago, Chile. Canada is expecting to send a team of approximately 140 athletes.
Now that his team has won gold for Canada in the pool at the Special Olympics World Games, Tyler Servant of Swift Current, Sask., says he would like to someday help younger athletes as a coach.
The conclusion of the 2022 Canada Games in Niagara left Team New Brunswick with 19 medals 10 more than the nine medals won at their last winter Canada Games in 2019 but fewer than the 24 won at the summer games in 2017.
