We are urging individuals, community groups, attractions, organisations, and businesses to think about how they might get involved.
Now in its fourth year, the event promises to be bigger and better than ever before and no doubt there will be many exciting and wonderful events and initiatives taking place in the run-up to the big day.
Taking place on Tuesday, July 27, Norfolk Day is backed by the Eastern Daily Press, Norwich Evening News, and BBC Radio Norfolk and provides an opportunity to shout and cheer about this fantastic place where we live. People could also consider hosting an event over the weekend before.

HAY Festival has revealed its free programme for schools for this spring’s edition, bringing writers and young people together online for a series of inspiring interactive activities and workshops. The schools programme runs from May 24-28, ahead of the main programme running from May 26 to June 6. Parents, teachers and young people can register for the free sessions now at hayfestival.org/schools. Five sessions will be broadcast daily for pupils across KS1-4 with each event accompanied by free teaching materials and active learning activities, available to view live or on replay throughout, along with the festival’s full programme for schools archive, part-funded by Hay Festival Foundation.

The manager of Newham Bookshop has waxed lyrical about this year s World Book Day offering, with hundreds of books in store ready to be distributed to Newham children.
Vivian Archer, whose independent shop soon celebrates its 43rd birthday, is proud to have been part of the initiative since its inception: We’ve been doing it from the start. Giving children a free book is a great initiative, especially in an area like Newham where some may not own a book.

World Book Day (Thursday, 4th March) can prove a challenge for many parents aiming to create the perfect costume for their children that faithfully represents their child s favourite book, but we think Rochelle Humes has done a pretty good job of it this year.
