Jo (Roberts) Sims-Spillman, 95 of Godfrey, passed away early afternoon, Monday January 6, 2021, at Jerseyville Manor, Jerseyville.
Born on July 2, 1925, near Hamburg, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Ronald D. and Elsie (Crader) Roberts. She graduated from high school in 1943 and worked as a telephone operator during the war. In April, 1945, she married Eugene P. Sims. He preceded her in death in 1988. She and Gene raised two sons, Robert and Ronald. She is also survived by two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Jo was a life-long resident of the Alton area, she enjoyed gardening and traveling.
Jo was the well-known sidewalk bank teller at Alton Banking and Trust (The Wedge Bank) at the corners of Broadway and Third Street in Alton, Illinois. She served her customers in a friendly professional manner for over twenty years.
