VINELAND – The extended Cumberland County law enforcement family gathered at sunset Thursday to remember their fallen.
It’s become tradition for the Vineland Police Department to host the National Police Week tribute to those who lost their lives in the service of others.
Millville Police Department Chief Jody Farabella told those assembled he thinks of Patrolman Christopher Reeves every day. The 40-year old officer died July 8, 2012 when his patrol car was struck by another vehicle at 3rd and Broad streets.
They remembered New Jersey State Police Trooper Frankie Williams, assigned to the Port Norris Station. He was responding to calls of an erratic driver when his cruiser was struck by a vehicle that crossed the Route 55 median. Williams was 31 when he died Dec. 5, 2016.
