Medicaid overpaid Lakewood company $242K, NJ comptroller says
The New Jersey Office of the State Comptroller audited a Lakewood medical supply company and found that nearly 40% of its Medicaid claims lacked necessary information or used wrong billing codes, the office said.
The office’s Medicaid Fraud Division said the deficient claims resulted in Surgical Sock Shop of Lakewood being overpaid $242,873 by Medicaid. The company is not facing criminal charges.
The shop has been in business for almost 30 years, the company’s attorneys said. It supplies compression stockings, which help reduce swelling, and other medical supplies.
