Funeral mass took place April 22 at St. Aedan’s Church, Jersey City, for Bruno Folcarelli, 66, of Jersey City, formerly of Pontecorvo, Italy. He passed away April 16, 2021 surrounded by his loving family after courageously fighting cancer. His family will always remember him as “a true warrior who faced his illness with hope, grace, and unwavering strength. He was the life of the party.” Bruno studied in Italy and came to the United States in 1973 at the age of 18. He worked as a carpenter and a general contractor before starting his own company, Pontecorvo Construction. He was later employed by the Jersey City Parking Authority for over 25 years. His passion in life was his family and his hobbies. He was a champion wine maker and a food artisan, who was fond of making homemade cheese, sausage, and tomato sauce. He was devoted to family gatherings and going to casinos with his family. He loved hunting in upstate New York. Bruno enjoyed traveling to Mexico,

James P. “Jimmy” King, a longtime political operative and Thanksgiving Day dinner host, has died.
King, 78, was born and raised in Jersey City. He spent years serving as a committeeman in Journal Square, a neighborhood he never left. King was married for 57 years to his wife Michelina “Cookie” King.
