Northeast Alabama Community College will host a community-wide Veterans Day reception on Thursday, November 10th, at 10:00 A.M. in the Tom Bevill Lyceum.
The Marine Toys for Tots of DeKalb County held a fundraiser recently at Dogtown intersection. The organization was able to raise $1,424 in just four hours.

Tuscaloosa will honor the men and women who died while in the military service during a Memorial Day program, which will also double as a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for veterans and their spouses.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 9 a.m. May 31 at the Tuscaloosa Veterans Memorial Park, 1701 McFarland Blvd. E, in front of University Mall.
Jerry C. McAbee, a retired brigadier general in the U.S. Marine Corps, will be the keynote speaker.
McAbee, a Rainsville native, is the author of “Stubborn Men and Parched Corn: The Eighteenth Georgia Volunteer Infantry Regiment,” a book that features recollections of McAbee s great-grandfather of the Civil War regiment from Georgia.
