Let s get you a look outside this morning from your berkeley cam skies. Well, they re not crystal clear. We ve got some low cloud cover, sitting above berkeley. And in fact, some dense fog and portions across the inland east bay and then especially near the coastline up into the north bay. Watch out for some lower visibility this morning. We do have some patchy dense fog having settled into many parts of the bay area. It s going to be hanging out with us well, through this morning commute. So it s going to be another great start to the morning fairly gray one along the coastline. Even into the afternoon. Well, inland areas will see some good clearing and some really comfortable weather, especially the further away from the coastline you re talking today. As for radar it s dry out there could see some coastal drizzle a
trump loyalists who believe donald trump s lies that the 2020 election was stolen. this is one of those defining moments. it really is. people are going to be judged. where were they before and where were they after the vote? history s going to judge it. it s that consequential. 19 states have passed 34 laws that limit voting hours, ballot drop boxes, or take some power from local elections officials. there are other constraints as well. the brennan center for justice says it s tracking at least a dons state laws being proposed this year. and some georgia voting rights groups are skipping the president s speech. they re demanding action, not just more talk. so, cnn s jeff zelensy is in atlanta with the president. stacey abrams will not be there for president biden s speech. so, how s he reacting to that? reporter: alisyn, that certainly has gotten a bit of attention. of course, stacey abrams was the face of the need for voting reform. she registered so many voters her
adree upjerry gonzalez adrian jerry gonzalez. our reporter was there live and has more information. reporter: the santa cruz county district attorney said the search ended in the worst possible way and now this 15- year-old could face life in prison for this crime. the d.a. s office formally announced charges against jerry gonzalez. charges include murder, kidnapping and sexual assaultcations. they wouldn t go into specifics but we know they have evidence, including maddy s belongings, witness statements and the two were apparently acquaintances, police say gonzalez lured maddy into his apartment. it was there she was killed. her body carried to a reek cycling bin downstairs. i spoke to a neighbor and he was here when the d.a. read the charges. it hurts because like, you know, we love maddy so much and it s this is our community, you know, this is like we are we re like a family and this happened. it s i m just like in shock right now. reporter: well, because he
burned. the fire started around 3:30 this afternoon. quickly devoured 150 acres. it s now 1,000 acres and is zero percent contained. it spread so fast. new video just in. here you can see a structure in flames. cal fire says the fire is spreading rapidly in heavy brush and timber and of course it s bone dry. getting to it is difficult. cal fire has called in more resources to help. an evacuation center has been opened in lower lake. the rag fire in napa and solano counties continues to threaten more than 100 homes. nearly 150 acres reignited, forcing evacuations. the fire has now burned almost 7,100 acres. it s 80% contained. there are more than 6,000 firefighters battling ten active wildfires in california. well, of course this hot weather is not helping the firefighting effort at all. no. abc 7 was in the south bay where temperatures were so hot alomar park was shut down because of concerns about the fire danger. in alameda county people hit the beach. having a lo
