Sandy Leah Gaylord, of Hibbing, was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She passed away on August 29, 2022, with her family by her side. She was an only child, born to Clarence and Helvi Klein (Ylatupa) on November 19, 1942. After graduating from Hibbing High School, Sandy married, Robert Gaylord. They were married until Robert passed away after a short battle with cancer in 1999. Sandy is survived by her sons Jerry Gaylord and Jim Gaylord (Rachel) of Duluth as well as her granddaughter, Brighton.

The Superior woman died June 11 at age 36 from an overdose caused by the combined effect of fentanyl and ethanol. A Duluth man, Jeffery Paul Linder, has been charged with first-degree reckless homicide for allegedly providing her with the fentanyl.
