On the third anniversary of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, hundreds have been convicted, but some, including 3 Oklahomans, haven't yet had their day in court.
A Trump supporter from Fort Gibson pleaded guilty to a federal charge of civil disorder for going inside the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021, riot.
Oklahoman
After breaching the U.S. Capitol Jan. 6, an Oklahoma supporter of former President Donald Trump called on Facebook for the American people to wake up, the FBI reported. We reclaimed our Capitol, just to be slandered by the media, Jerry Edward Ryals wrote, according to the FBI. Things are headed in the direction of a Revolutionary war against the corruption of our government. It is our responsibility to handle this at all costs. We are not animals, we are not barbarians, we are the heart of this country and the last ones to stand up for your freedom.
Ryals, 26, of Fort Gibson, now faces a felony obstruction charge in federal court in the District of Columbia because of the Facebook post, photos showing him inside the Capitol and videos.
