The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has performed the official groundbreaking ceremonies for Ilorin Innovation Hub and Visual Arts Centre two ongoing signature projects that he said would place the state firmly on the global map of technology and tourism development.
The unveiling ceremony conducted alongside the visiting French Ambassador to Nigeria, Jerome Pasquier, came hours before he commissioned the three-kilometre asphalt road that leads to Nigeria’s first museum in Esie town of Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara South.
The Ilorin Visual Arts Centre will be the first purpose-built contemporary film and art institute in West Africa and the second Dolby Atmos Certified film production studio in the sub region, the governor said.

France to partner Benin monarchy to repatriate looted artworks

The French government is to partner the Benin monarchy for the repatriation of Benin artworks which were looted from the kingdom more than a century ago.
Jerome Pasquier, France Ambassador to Nigeria, disclosed this when he led some officials of the French Embassy on a courtesy visit to the Oba of Benin on Monday.
Mr Pasquier said the French government was determined to eliminate all forms of discriminations and as well assist Africans in a dialogue to retrace their cultural heritage.
BENIN CITY – His Royal Majesty, Omo N’ Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, has solicited a stronger ties between the Benin and the French Government in the eradication of human trafficking across the African Continent.
Oba Ewuare II made the assertion when he received the French Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Jerome Pasquier and his entourage at his palace on Monday in Benin City.
The monarch who also sought cultural integration between Nigeria and France arising from their historical background, said the war against human trafficking can only be won through collaboration among Countries.
Oba Ewuare said job creation for the teeming youths, sensitisation campaign of people on the evil of Human trafficking could go a long way to end illegal migration.
