The York Region District School Board has decided to suspend two controversial programs that place uniformed police officers in its public schools.

The York Region District School Board plans to review two programs, known as the School Resource Officer and Youth Education Officer programs, to look at the impact on the well-being of students and their learning environments. In a decision on Wednesday, it will suspend the programs.(York Region District School Board)
