Angono LGU eyes vacant spaces as vegetable gardens

Dr. Joel Tuplano, head of the Angono Municipal Agriculture Office told Manila Bulletin that the first day of seedling distribution outside the municipal hall on July 8 had attracted around 175 residents. The office of Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon said the seedling distribution, dubbed as Pantanim Project, would eventually result in transforming backyards and vacant lots into vegetable gardens with the residents themselves benefiting from the program.

Angono mayor gets vaccinated against COVID

Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon / Facebook / MANILA BULLETIN In a Facebook post, Calderon said she volunteered to be vaccinated first to show Angono residents that the vaccine and safe and encourage them to get inoculated as well. Alan Maniaol, chief of staff of Mayor Calderon, told Manila Bulletin that the town received 500 Sinovac vaccines which the local government would use to inoculate the town’s frontline personnel. Also inoculated on April 6 were medical and other frontliners, disaster team personnel, social workers, and Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT) members of each barangays. As of April 3, the town received 2,215 registrations for vaccination.
