April 28, 2021BERLIN The Berlin High School baseball team has started the season with three straight victories, defeating the Colebrook Mohawks by a score of 20-1 last Monday, before beating the Littleton Crusaders 6-4 this past Saturday at Memorial Field.
In the 20-1 win over Colebrook, sophomore pitcher Jeremyha Dow threw five innings, striking out 12 and not allowing a single hit in the mercy rule shortened game. On Saturday, Griffin Melanson would extend the Mountaineer winning streak to three, as he threw a complete game while striking out eight to earn his first victory on the mound this season.
On Saturday, the Mountaineer bats came out swinging early against Crusader pitcher Josh Finkle. A Ben Estrella single led off the bottom of the first inning before Tyler Rousseau would reach on an error by Littleton shortstop Blake Fillion.
