Newsroom earns four first-place honors; ad staff gets two firsts 4:53 pm, Apr. 29, 2021 ×
The Mitchell Republic newspaper earned 22 awards in the annual South Dakota Newspaper Association Better Newspaper Contest, it was announced Thursday.
The newspaper competes in the highest division against other daily newspapers with circulations over 7,000. All of the work that was judged was compiled in the 2020 calendar year.
Multi-media sales consultant Laura Fosness won two first-place honors. Fosness took first in best two-column ad among all daily newspapers and she took first in best use of local photography advertisement.
On the editorial contest, Nick Sabato, Marcus Traxler, Erik Kaufman and Luke Hagen earned first-place awards.
