One week of the 2023 high school football season in the books with several Northeast Georgia-area teams living up to their preseason billing, others showing they may be ready to make a move, with several still having some work to do.
Three area teams get under way on Thursday as the 2023 high school football season kicks off around the state and the area. Sixteen more games are scheduled for Friday involving Northeast Georgia teams.
The Flowery Branch girl used a 21-5 first quarter run to take control and then cruised to a 59-39 win over Winder-Barrow in the first round of the Region 8-5A Tournament on Monday.
