When future art historians look back at the film, television and video footage of this era, the sense of physical separation will be striking. There will be this little window of about a year and change, give or take, where it will be instantly apparent when almost everything was shot, simply because no one is in the same frame together. But those same cultural archaeologists will look back and marvel at how well some of the artists adapted the medium to their times.
“Bad Karma,” the recent music video by Boston rockers The Devil s Twins, is one of those small marvels, in that the song demands a crowded dance floor, with people moving to the song s infectious beat, and through a series of isolated shots, the video delivers a dance party that lives up to the groove.
