The Michigan Supreme Court has declined to hear an appeal concerning a judge’s ruling that blocked county prosecutors from enforcing the state’s 1931 abortion ban, because changes in state law over past year have rendered the dispute meaningless. But Justice David Viviano took the opportunity to castigate the Court of Claims for its “apparent eagerness to issue a preliminary injunction in a seemingly unripe case without adverse parties."
